What's the SUR Sandbox programme?

Following the introduction of the Mandatory Energy Improvement (MEI) regime under the Building Control Act by the Singapore government, building owners now face additional pressures to reduce energy consumption to meet these regulations.

To meet these challenges, the SUR Sandbox Programme is a great starting point for building owners to get started on their decarbonisation journey. Whether to meet government regulations, reduce building operating cost, or improve the value of the asset, the Sandbox is a risk-free partnership to implement a variety of real estate solutions. Based on key targets and objectives, the Sandbox will be custom designed to include a selection of solutions and focused on improving energy efficiency of buildings.

Under this programme, we will provide up to 50% co-funding, capped at $10,000, to support your journey towards sustainable development.

With your matching contribution, we can collectively deliver a comprehensive programme valued at $20,000, achieving meaningful sustainability outcomes and operating cost reduction for your property.

What goes into the Sandbox?

Through SUR Sandbox Programme, we can deploy a range of non-invasive, sustainable solutions designed to reduce energy consumption, including:

  • Optimisation of Air-Handling Units
  • Enhancement of Fan-Coil Units
  • Improvement on Heat Compressors
  • Management on Plug Load
  • Replacement/Upgrading of Sensors
  • And a variety of other solutions

 

These energy-efficient solutions are deployed in a controlled and targeted manner, allowing us to test and refine their effectiveness in specific areas or under fixed conditions.

Our approach ensures minimal disruption to your operations, with no impact on ongoing activities.

How can I get started?

Embark on building sustainability journey with the SUR Sandbox Programme in five steps:

  1. 1. Agreement Signing: Formalise your participation and initiate the programme.

  2. 2. Survey and Audit: Our experts will conduct an audit of your selected property through a site visit.

  3. 3. Customised Sandbox Proposal*: Receive a tailored proposal outlining sustainability targets, programme details, and innovative solutions for your property.

  4. 4. Implementation and Monitoring: We will implement the proposed solutions and monitor for a period of 3 to 6 months.

  5. 5. Presentation of Outcomes: We will prepare a comprehensive presentation of the programme's outcomes and proposal on how to further optimise the performance.

 

 *If SUR fails to deliver target outcomes or propose a suitable strategy, all fees paid will be refunded.
